Community Focus Federal Credit Union, formally National Steel Federal Credit Union, was originally chartered in 1960 as a financial cooperative serving the salary employees of National Steel and their families.
In January 2002, CFFCU became a community chartered credit union to better serve the National Steel employees and the people living and working in the communities in the Downriver area. At that time, our charter expanded to 15 cities: Allen Park, Brownstown, Ecorse, Flat Rock, Gibraltar, Grosse Ile, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, River Rouge, Riverview, Rockwood, Southgate, Trenton, Woodhaven, Wyandotte.
In April 2010, Huron Township, Romulus and Taylor were included in the communities we serve. Since our beginnings, Community Focus Federal Credit Union has grown into a progressive financial institution. We´re a full service financial institution, offering a wide array of financial products and services to help our members meet their personal financial goals.
We believe in helping our members. Over the years of serving our membership, we’ve learned that many of our members struggled with poor credit scores and high interest debt. We’ve looked at ways we could offer better loan solutions to these members because we understood that their current situation may not be reflective of their future. We reviewed our lending criteria and started to offer loans and credit to people who may not get it elsewhere or save them money by refinancing their high interest loans and credit cards.
If you’ve been looking for a solution to your financial worries, come to us. We won’t judge you by your credit score. We know bad things happen to good people. We will listen to your story and help you get back on your feet by creating a financial solution that works for you. Our goal is to set you up for success, help you pay less for everyday expenses and give you tools to build better credit for a brighter future.
Since we’ve embraced this approach, we’ve helped countless members who previously felt helpless. We can help you too.
